“Price for peptides?” is not a buying brief. It forces the supplier to guess the product, vial strength, quantity, package, documents, and shipping cost. The first reply will usually be another list of questions.
A good peptide RFQ names the product, specification, quantity, packaging, documents, destination, required delivery date, and commercial terms.
Put those details in one message and you make the order easier to price, compare, and approve.
What does peptide RFQ mean?
RFQ means request for quotation. It is a structured request for a supplier to price one defined order.
An RFQ is different from a general question. “Do you sell BPC-157?” asks about availability. “Please quote 500 ten-vial boxes of BPC-157, 10 mg per vial, in standard packaging, delivered to this postal code” starts a commercial decision.
The purpose is not to write a long document. The purpose is to remove expensive guessing.
The eight details every peptide RFQ needs

If you do not know the final quantity, give a useful range and a forecast. “First order 500 boxes; expected quarterly demand 2,000 boxes” is more helpful than “large quantity.”

What makes a peptide quote slow?
Most delays begin with one of these gaps:
- the peptide name is present, but the vial strength is missing;
- “bulk” is written without a number or unit;
- private label is requested without saying whether the product is standard or custom;
- the buyer asks for “all documents” without naming the required documents;
- the destination says only “USA” or “Europe”;
- the buyer gives an arrival date but no time for artwork or production approval; or
- several different specifications appear in the email, attachment, and purchase order.
The fix is simple: make one master brief and update that document when a decision changes.
Should I ask for MOQ, unit price, or total price?
Ask for all three.
The quotation should show:
- the applicable minimum order quantity;
- the unit used for the MOQ;
- unit price at the requested volume;
- available volume breaks;
- setup, artwork, testing, or packaging costs;
- freight or delivered-cost basis;
- currency and quote validity;
- payment schedule; and
- estimated lead time after required approvals.

How should shipping appear in the RFQ?
Ask the supplier to name the shipping term and place.
The International Chamber of Commerce explains that Incoterms define buyer and seller obligations, risk transfer, and certain costs. They do not replace the complete sales contract.
Your RFQ should still identify:
- destination postal code;
- preferred carrier or service level, if any;
- temperature requirements where applicable;
- insurance responsibility;
- import-clearance responsibility; and
- whether duties and taxes are included.
“Shipping included” is not enough if nobody knows what happens at customs.

What happens after the RFQ?
A clean B2B buying path usually looks like this:
- supplier confirms the brief;
- supplier issues the quotation;
- buyer resolves open questions;
- both sides approve specification, packaging, documents, price, and timing;
- supplier issues the pro forma invoice;
- buyer confirms payment under the agreed terms; and
- the order enters allocation or production.
If the specification changes after quotation, request a revised quote. Do not assume the first price covers new strength, packaging, testing, or quantity.
